Laurie Wiard, Ph.D. is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC# 37032) and psychoanalyst working in private practice for the past fifteen years. After earning a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 1992, she began working with young children, parents and families with a focus on treating severe developmental disorders. In 2010, Laurie completed a doctorate at the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, CA. Laurie is an AACAST certified Couples and Sex Therapist, and works with individuals and couples suffering from sexual disorders. In addition, she was a supervisor and teacher of psychology students at The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, CA, and currently supervises interns in her private practice. Laurie's practice is devoted to individuals who seek a deeper understanding of themselves: their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Laurie's own journey in navigating her internal world has lead her to the deepest understanding of human pain and how "rocky beginnings" can lead to suffering. Laurie has a strong spiritually-based life that affords her the opportunity to work from both a psychological stance, as well as with focus on a person’s unseen but ever-so-present human spirit.
